Saghalie Park (33914 19th Ave SW) is Federal Way’s main free outdoor game: four lighted asphalt courts, bring your own net. As of this writing the regulars run recreational pickup games on Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday mornings, which makes Saghalie the easiest place in the city to walk into a real rotation.

Beyond Saghalie, the court finders list two outdoor courts with permanent nets by the Lakota Creek treatment plant and a single sports court off SW 312th. I have not taught on either, so treat those as leads worth a scouting trip rather than a promise. For most Federal Way players the practical answer is Saghalie plus a portable net, which never has an off-season.
Indoor: The Picklr and the gyms
The Picklr Federal Way runs fourteen indoor courts on the membership model, and with The Picklr Tacoma temporarily closed, it is currently the nearest Picklr for displaced Tacoma members. The Federal Way Community Center and the Boys & Girls Club both host gym pickleball with portable nets for a small drop-in fee. My take for anyone starting out: four free lighted courts beat a club membership until you know you will play three times a week.
Lessons for Federal Way players
Federal Way sits at the north edge of our range, and lessons work both directions. We come to you at Saghalie or a court you pick, net and balls included, for a flat travel fee that is itemised in the booking flow before you confirm. Or drive the twenty minutes down I-5 to our home courts in Tacoma and Fircrest and pay standard rates with no fee at all. A first lesson is mostly fundamentals, and fundamentals transfer to whichever court you play on afterward.
